HOERSTER HOUSE
Take a step back in time for a stay in a lovely
Victorian home near the Courthouse Square. Built in 1900 by early resident Fritz Hoerster, this guest house has been restored with great care to original detail while incorporating many modern comforts.

There is a great sense of space with 12 foot ceilings crowned with den-til molding, along with the     original transoms, wainscoting and oak flooring                   to be found throughout the house.                       The large and airy living room has    comfortable seating including a queen sized sleeper sofa. A pair of wing-back chairs sit in the bay window and are ideal for curling up with a good book. Antique furnishings complete the feel
of a bygone era, including an oak apothecary cabinet which spans the room so perfectly one would think it was original to the home.
For guests enjoyment, a television set is provided for watching dvd and vhs movies. There is central heat/air and ceiling fans throughout.

The large bedroom, featuring a queen size bed with fine linens and good reading lamps, is complete with ornamental fireplace and large windows. Extra sleeping is available with a twin in the adjoining enclosed sun porch.

Original cupboards abound in the modern and    fully equipped kitchen which includes gas range,          microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven and              dishwasher. The open pass-through to the                 spacious dining room ensures the cooks          are never far away from other guests!

The large remodeled bathroom continues the feel of the era with a clawfoot tub~shower combo, pedestal sink and large tiled flooring.

A screened porch provides comfy seating
for relaxation after a busy day of
exploring Mason or visiting with friends.
Another porch at the front is ideal for the long-ago
pastime of 'counting cars' that pass by
the ornate, vintage entry gate.
Or when ready to cozy around the chiminea in the back yard (dependent on local conditions), retire to yet another outdoor living area that is a
feature of this property.

This lodging shares the property with the
Stagecoach Stop and both are situated within a perimeter fence enclosing the 1.5 acres.
Horses are welcome in the outer yard.
